Every School Has a Story

Lynwood Unified is designing the next chapter of learning by helping every school define its own signature identity — programs and experiences that reflect the strengths, passions, and goals of our students and community.

What are Signature Programs?

Building on what we heard in the 100-Day Survey, Lynwood Unified is helping each school define its own Signature Program — rooted in creativity, wellness, innovation, and opportunity — to prepare students for the world ahead.

Signature Programs will give every school a clear identity: a theme, focus, or area of excellence that reflects its students, staff, and community. From arts and language to STEM, athletics, and leadership, these identities will help students see learning come alive, connect with their passions, and prepare for success in college, career, and life.

Signature Program Ideas

The ideas below reflect what students, families, and staff shared through the 100-Day Plan Survey — a strong call for learning that is engaging, creative, inclusive, and connected to real-world opportunities.

These themes are guiding how Lynwood schools will shape their unique Signature Programs in the years ahead.

1

🎭 Visual and Performing Arts Programs

Our community values creativity and self-expression. Students thrive when they can perform, create, and showcase their talents through music, dance, theater, and visual arts that celebrate Lynwood’s culture and spirit.
2

🏈 Sports, Clubs, and Extracurricular Activities

Families emphasized that athletics and student activities build pride, teamwork, and belonging. Expanding access to sports, clubs, and leadership opportunities helps students stay engaged and connected.
3

💬 Bilingual and Dual-Language Learning Opportunities

Lynwood’s linguistic and cultural diversity is one of its greatest strengths. Dual-language and biliteracy pathways help students become confident communicators and global citizens.
4

⚙️ STEM, Robotics & eSports Academies

Students and staff are eager for more hands-on, project-based learning. STEM and robotics academies will inspire innovation and problem-solving while preparing learners for future careers in science and technology.
5

💡 Artificial Intelligence Pathways

As technology reshapes the world, our community wants Lynwood students to lead in understanding and applying AI responsibly. AI pathways will connect innovation, ethics, and creativity in the classroom.
6

❤️ Support for Student Wellness and Mental Health

Families and educators identified wellness as essential to learning. Programs focused on social-emotional growth, counseling, mindfulness, and peer leadership will help every student feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.
7

🎓 Career and College Readiness Programs

Preparing students for the future was a consistent theme across survey responses. CTE pathways, internships, and early-college programs will help students explore interests and transition confidently to college, careers, and life.
8

🌞 Expanded Afterschool and Summer Enrichment

Our community values learning beyond the school day. Enrichment programs will extend opportunities for academics, arts, and athletics — keeping students engaged, curious, and connected all year long.

Together, these emerging programs will form a connected portfolio of opportunities — showcasing the unique strengths of every Lynwood school and creating pathways that guide students from curiosity to confidence.

Why Signature Programs Matter

Every Lynwood school has a story to tell — and we’re writing those stories together.

Signature programs will give each school a unique focus that connects learning to real-world experiences and student passions. From STEM and arts to leadership and wellness, these programs ensure that every student finds a place to belong and a pathway to success.

The Process

Each school will engage staff, students, and families in shaping its identity through a collaborative design process.

Together, school teams will explore:
• What makes our school unique?
• What strengths do we want to grow?
• How can we connect learning to life beyond school?

These conversations will guide the development of themes that highlight each school’s personality and connect to our district goals.

2025–26 | Listening + Discovery
Schools gather input and identify emerging strengths.

2026–27 | Design + Development
Schools define their focus areas and pilot new learning experiences.

2027–28 | Launch + Showcase
Signature programs are fully developed and celebrated districtwide.

As each school finalizes its identity, this page will grow to feature highlights and stories from across Lynwood Unified.

Signature programs and school identities are central to Vision 2030 — our commitment to align every learning experience with our four tenants:

Unlocking Brilliance · Cultivating Talent · Uplifting Community · Modeling Excellence

By connecting student interests to meaningful pathways, we’re preparing every Lynwood learner to lead, learn, and thrive beyond graduation.
